About

Astronomy is a field of specialization at TCC where you can prepare for a future career in astronomy or physics. TCC offers courses that cover the first two years of a typical four-year college astronomy or physics program. Students will earn an Associate of Science degree to enter into a four-year college or university.

The Careers

Astronomer

Observe, research, and interpret astronomical phenomena to increase basic knowledge or apply such information to practical problems.

Physicist

Conduct research into physical phenomena, develop theories on the basis of observation and experiments, and devise methods to apply physical laws and theories.

Natural Sciences Manager

Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, and research.

College Professor

Teach courses in the physical sciences. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching, and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
